A combination of an action for alleged malpractice and the HMO compensation system was signaling the end of this ophthalmic practice. We were retained to negotiate with their primary medical supplier, a household name, with a reputation for being very difficult to work with.
After six weeks of negotiations with the supplier we were able to reduce this debt by two-thirds. The resultant elimination of this substantial liability from their Balance Sheet meant that the practice was bankable and able to refinance other debt to continue.
